The end of summer is near, so I'm straining to think back to the spring and remember things I want to write down about cute little MEC. He spent most days hanging out with his buddy and big sister CAC while the big kids were in school. Once a week CAC attended a tumbling class at the rec center with her cousin Sydney. We would usually pass the time at the library or out at the park with Aunt Shauna and cousin Andrew. It was fun to watch these two boys play together, although they were never interested in slowing down for a good picture.
Other things that were part of a typical day...eating "frosting square and Cheerios" cereal with soy milk for breakfast, wearing his favorite "Go Utes" hat and "fire shoes" (he's since become fond of his "baseball shoes," which is good since the fire shoes were getting a bit small). He loves watching "baseball on the couch" with Dad and can point out many of the Pirates players, including his favorites: McCutchen and Martin. He also loves watching the show "Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood" and singing primary songs. He's a very sweet boy, and a terrible two-year-old only a small fraction of the time:)
We just got back from a family vacation to Colorado, which included three days of camping just outside the Rocky Mountain National Park. MEC proved to be quite a good little camper. He made his baseball-loving Dad proud not only when he consistently used his left hand to throw rocks into the stream, but again, when he kept mentioning that he wanted to go back to the "National League Park."
In only a few more weeks, MEC will be my sole little buddy at home...it will be strange for both of us, I think--quiet, for sure. We'll have fun though. For now we'll just focus on enjoying the remainder of summer.
