From within the shadows of the everlasting hills...

Last Sunday we spent the morning down on Temple Square to watch the Mormon Tabernacle Choir broadcast of Music and the Spoken Word and attend a special presentation for retiring members of the choir.  TEC's dad was among those honored.

We viewed the actual broadcast from inside the visitor's center theater (our kids weren't old enough to attend it live in the tabernacle).  It was fun for the kids to see Grams and Papa and Aunt Val on the big screen.  They had some good shots of all of them--especially of Papa, as is custom for one's final broadcast, we're told.

These were a few pictures I snapped before and during the presentation for retirees.

This one turned out kind of dark, but I really like the expression on TEC Sr.'s face.  It's the same expression I've seen him have when he's held one of his new grandkids, or maybe when he's had an especially good golf day...  After 20+ years singing with the choir, this day must have been right up there with his most proud moments.

Congratulations, Papa!  We are proud of you and hope you adjust well to life after choir.
