Lucky girl

"I will miss you, Mom."

That's what 2-year-old SCC said to me tonight when we told her she was going to spend the night at Aunt Val's house. So much for needing to convince her that she would be okay, that she'd have a good time, that we'd see her tomorrow...

Boy was she excited...I don't think I've ever seen any of my kids hurry as fast to get ready for anything. Within seconds of our telling her, SCC was putting on her PJs and finding socks and shoes, saying her "goodbyes" to her jealous siblings.

"I won't be sad, Mom," she promised me. I was just trying hard not to laugh as I watched all this happen. And, of course, I did my best to comfort RVC who did her best to point out to me that this arrangement was "just not fair at all."
