Welcome home, Elder!

Elder Cundick returned from his mission today. We send our love and "welcome home," even though we're a few miles away from "home" for him. Wish we could be there. It will be strange to not attach our usual "especially Uncle P" when we pray for the missionaries around the world, but we're grateful for the example he has been for our family.

Meanwhile, R and TL keep us smiling. Here are the latest funny moments:

TL has learned the concept of "hot" (thankfully, not due to any traumatic experience). I guess it started with us blowing on his food when the temperature was still hot to eat, and telling him, "It's too hot..." Now, whenever he hears the word "hot," he starts blowing into the air, at the oven, at the bath water, etc. The other day, after running errands in a hot car, I looked back at TL's flushed face and said, "Poor thing...it sure is hot, isn't it?" He started his blowing. R, remembering from earlier that day how we waited for our macaroni & cheese lunch to cool, was quick to correct him: "You can't blow on the day, silly; it's not your macaroni!"

And it's always great to hear your child use a word for the first time and have no idea where she picked it up (well, I guess it won't always be great...there are many words I hope our kids never use...) A couple of days ago, I told R to tell her dad about our trip to the pet store that morning. Expecting her to start listing off the many things we saw, it made me laugh when she started her report with, "Dad, it was enormous!"
