Summer Miscellany

Here's a recap of the blur that was our summer.  It seemed to fly past faster than any summer I remember.

We had a good mix of lazy, hang around the house days,
more scheduled days of tennis, piano, and swimming lessons,

and, here and there, a few fun, spontaneous outings too.

Of course, we spent time at the club.  Even more fun when cousins happen to be there too.

We had great intentions of multiple movie nights and late-overs with friends, but I'm proud of us for managing at least one.

It was hard to please everyone, so we had a couple of theater-showings going at once.  There was the all-about-fun-watching-movie-is-optional room, complete with a projector set up and double-decker seating.  Then there was the more calm, lights dim, snuggle in a blanket room.  The latter was followed by some artwork in the backyard.  Very befitting the personalities we had present.

RVC had some fun get togethers with her friends, like this crafty terrarium-making day for Charlotte's birthday.

She also ran a little "Mom's Day Out" camp for kids in the neighborhood.

Meanwhile, SCC found any opportunity to put her creative mind to use, with or without the company of others.

She also attended a Tanner creative dance camp up at the U of U.

TLC and I got to spend a couple of days with the Bears up at Cub Camp.

CAC and TLC laced up for track and field workouts three days a week and did great competing at a few meets during the summer.  Those meets took some endurance even to sit through.

Somewhere in that blur of summer, CAC lost her very first tooth.

And the three bigs caught the Harry Potter fever (some for the second time).

MEC had fun just going with the flow all summer.  He debuted his ability to go all day without a nap, which is mostly a good thing when the big kids are all around.

As for me, besides running around with my kids, I ran the Wasatch Back Ragnar relay again.

I also attended a week-long organ workshop down at BYU, complete with an opportunity to play the Assembly Hall organ at Temple Square.

And celebrated 20 years out of high school with Skyline's class of 1994.

And that's about all the summer reminiscing I can handle in one post.  Still to come: special summer birthdays and a family trip to beautiful Colorado.
