The Davis family (TEC's mom's side) had a reunion up at the Heber Girls Camp over the Fourth. It was a great time--lots of games, visiting, eating, kids playing with cousins and second cousins. It was fun to hear stories from Betsy and her siblings about their time growing up and about the original Grams and Papa.
We also had some adventures on the big swing and zip line. The kids were pretty brave.
And I think it takes a brave mom and dad to be able to see your children up that high in the air.

We finally made it to the zoo to check out the new Rocky Shores exhibit. Very nice. CAC enjoyed her own encounter with the polar bear.
We met our new niece/cousin this month. Little ARC is very sweet.

Last but not least, was the celebration of this beautiful girl's birthday over the weekend.
SCC turned the big SIX. We missed TEC on the morning of her birthday, as he was competing in his first triathalon up in Idaho (I'm afraid I'm vague on the details of that adventure, but I think he had fun and his muscles are still feeling the love). We cooled off on the new slip-and-slide and went for a frozen yogurt treat. Then, when dad made it home, we ate dinner and headed out to the waterpark, only to find it closed for a private event. Luckily we made it through some tears and settled on swimming at Fairmont pool. Then it was back home for angel food cake and strawberries.
SCC got her value out of her "it's my birthday" card this year. She LOVED being the one to decide what we did, what we ate, etc. I think by the end of the day, her siblings were ready for her birthday to be over. She was also big on the traditions, like displaying her soon-to-be-opened presents and cards, using the "You are Special Today" plate, and sleeping with "birthday bear." She even made a ceremonial passing of the bear to CAC, who will be celebrating her birthday this coming week.
Summer's quickly reaching it's end. Tomorrow we head over to the school to get all set with registration, finding out teachers, etc. Soon a whole different kind of excitement begins.
