Alright, already. February is one day away from being over, so I better hurry and write a little bit about the cutest little one year-old around.
One as of Friday, that is. We love this little guy to pieces. MEC has added nothing but good to this family. In fact, this past year he's probably spent quite a bit of time watching life whirl around him in this crazy house, wondering just what he's gotten himself into by joining our family.
Some bits about his day... The kids were excited to wish him a happy birthday before they had to leave for school. They also made sure we stayed true to a few traditions, like letting MEC sleep with "birthday bear" the night before and making him a slew of special crafts: boat, crown, even a birthday car that the pushed him around in. When dad got home, we helped him open his presents and enjoyed some allergy-friendly treats.
Currently he crawls and/or scoots around the house, only pulling himself up to standing when it's really necessary, like to play in the dishwasher or to try and climb into the bathtub when mommy is taking a shower. He's a good eater, even though he has to stay away from dairy for now (which is just about the worst thing his brother and sisters can imagine anyone having to do...no ice cream?) while we're figuring out skin issues. He's got two sets of teeth, top and bottom, and thus a very adorable smile. He doesn't like to be left, but is okay if he at least has someone he knows staying with him. He loves to open and shut doors, take things out and then put them away again. He "talks" a lot and often even cracks himself up with whatever he is saying.
That's it for now. We love you, MEC. Enjoy being ONE!
