on being a big sister

When I posted this picture of CAC with little MEC the other day, I was reminded of another photo that I have tucked away in my baby book.

Once there was a little girl who must have struggled at times to find her place in the world once a new baby came on the scene.  I'm sure my mom had intentions that day of capturing a sweet moment of baby Tracey happy in her swing.  I can imagine a little voice probably asking her mom for something right at that moment--a desperate effort to defend the attention that was somehow slipping away from just her.  The look on her face suggests that she was not too thrilled about the new reality of "sharing"--sharing toys, sharing time and attention.

But, then, I have other photos from growing up that make me excited for the relationships my kids will develop over the years.

CAC has seemed to grow up quite a bit in these last couple of months.  She's a sweet big sister.  I imagine she feels somewhat threatened as she welcomes her baby brother into her world, but she's handling it pretty well, I'd say.
