sick day

RVC stayed home from school today.  Woke me up last night to tell me that she had thrown up three times (as if I couldn't tell by the smell coming from the side of my bed).  I tried not to be mad at her as I helped her wash her hair and then cleaned up vomit from her bedding, her brother's bedding beneath her, cracks and crevices in the bunk bed, the carpet, ... Of course I wasn't mad at her, but it is darn hard to be very compassionate at 2 in the morning while dry heaving from the smell of throw up.

I'm not sure what hit her last night.  She had the H1N1 booster yesterday...maybe her body reacted to it weird this time?  She was fine all of today, though.  I am very grateful for that and still hopeful that we can leave it at that.  I sure don't want to see this kind of thing cycle its way through our family.

And if a day like today was any indication of what 2 weeks off of school for Christmas will be like for me and the kids, I am going to have to get myself in gear and plan.  Staying at home all day (just in case one of us is still not over whatever hit the night before) combined with very cold temperatures forcing us indoors is not going to be a good thing for this mom and her kids.  Help!!!
