This time around it's little SCC needing to get better. This morning as we were rushing to get RVC out the door and on her way to school (she walks with two neighbor boys now), SCC let me know that she was sick and that she was going to rest some more instead of eat breakfast. Grateful that I didn't need to load up all the kids into the car, I sent her downstairs and set her up infront of the TV with some blankets and a big cup--just in case. TLC and I left a little bit later for his school and when we got back, my mom confirmed that she was indeed sick. So, after a few minutes of cleaning up sick messes and starting loads of laundry, I was searching for one of our many, but now elusive, thermometers, when TEC called from work to announce that he was starting to get a migraine and would need a ride home from the TRAX station (we're down to one car after the clutch went out on his car this weekend...). My mom was nice enough to stick around even longer while I went to pick him up.
Needless to say, we stayed put for the remainder of the day. By evening, TEC was feeling better with only residual pains from the headache. SCC, who had managed to keep down some Gatorade this afternoon, ate some broth and Sprite for dinner. We had a low-key Family Home Evening watching the Charlie Brown Christmas special recorded from last week. But just as the show was ending, SCC threw up again.
Poor girl. I hate hate hate when my kids get sick. SCC assured me that she would be better tomorrow. She told me as I was getting her situated for bed with towel under her head and bucket nearby that she knows how to get better in the night. "You think about Heavenly Father and Santa Claus and how much they love you," she said. "Then you get up in the morning, get dressed, and eat breakfast. And then you're all better."
I sure hope so.

She's so sweet! With faith like that I'm sure she'll be better tomorrow. It was fun to be together Saturday. Love you guys.
Hey cool to find your blog. I have been snooping on others blogs. To bad it was on a sick day for you. I think it is hilarious that you refer to your kids by their initials. You should have a key on the side bar. What is your youngest girl's name?
