CAC is one.
Her birthday was sandwiched between the California trip and our camping trip.
And then she spent the last week battling a cold and two ear infections. Every time she turns around, mean Mom is coming at her with a Kleenex or a syringe of medicine. Poor girl.
But we were able to celebrate a little on the third. She was the first kid up and I decided to give her a special birthday hairdo (you'll notice in later pictures that it didn't last) and her very own plum for breakfast.
CAC discovered ice cream cones on our trip, so we decided going for ice cream would be a fun birthday activity. Grandma and Grandpa B met us at Crown Burger. She knew right what to do with that thing and held on for dear life (don't even think about licking the dripping sides, mom).
We had Grams and Papa over for cake and present-opening later that evening, once Daddy was home from work. SCC got to open her birthday present from Grams and Papa as well.
none of the kids like the gift so far, as you can tell:)
So, there are many things that make this birthday girl special. She is our only true "Utahn." Unlike her siblings, she has never moved, and she's only flown 2 times--both back in November on our trip to Texas. CAC has lots of hair! Many people have said that she looks like her brother, and a little more like her mom than the other kids. She hasn't decided to walk yet--gets around too quickly and easily with her army crawl (and perhaps is carried around too much by older siblings) to mind. Even at her young age, she seems to recognize her place in our family. And we do too.
We're grateful you joined our family, little one. Happy Birthday!
