I didn't get to this on Tuesday (first day of school), but here is our big kindergartener. This was how she looked on the big day--a little nervous, but ready to see what school is all about.
The little girl behind her is brand new to our neighborhood and ward. RVC is thrilled to finally have a girl her age to play with.
As we come to day 3 of school, I'm getting a few details about what happens there each day, but they come little by little. RVC did tell me that they learned new lyrics to the song "Head Shoulders Knees and Toes." A favorite version of hers is "the doctor one." Though, she's had a hard time remembering all of the terms. I told her we could look them up.
cranium...scapula...patella...phalanges (RVC's a bit disappointed in me for not just knowing these terms--"Didn't you go to college?" she asked... Maybe I should have listened a bit better when I was in kindergarten).
A few more things I've learned from our kindergartener: the Sally Foster fundraiser starts this week, you raise your hand when you have something to say, kids who talk at the same time as the teacher lose part of their recess... I've also learned that walking home from school takes a long time with 4 kids, especially after a tiring morning of kindergarten.
