Back to School

{I've got lots of catching up to do on this blog...I'm not sure how to fit it in anymore, but here goes a quick one}

Last night we talked about schedules for our Family Home Evening. We've never really had to maintain a serious schedule before. Usually we've fallen into a somewhat predictable routine each day, but even that seems to get messed up when you add a newborn baby into the mix. We're getting used to life (slowly), but next week will bring the Cundick family its first ever FIRST DAY of SCHOOL. RVC starts kindergarten next Tuesday. Today we met her teacher, underwent some K-assessments, and saw her classroom, where she'll line up before school, etc. This mom learned that she should have been making many more trips over to the school by now than she has (apparently that is the only way school-home communication happens...), so I also signed a few forms. So, it looks like we're all set.

Now we just need to work on getting mom and kids ready each morning and to the school by 8:10 AM. Last night we went over things that we will need to do before bed each night, nightly rituals that may need to be adjusted some so as to make for an earlier bedtime, and what we'll need to do each morning. Assuming we continue to have good nights with baby CAC, I think I can get myself ready fine. Brushing and RVC's hair will be a challenge (or at least the step that will produce the most 5-year-old screams). This is our week to practice. Today we fell short, but we'll keep working at it.
