up spending a half hour driving to 3 different bike stores and doing our best to check prices of tag-a-long bikes through the display windows (it turns out 9:30 or 10am is the time to hit the shops). We got a small idea of what the stores carried; then, after a few phone calls to the stores once they were open and a stop by the Play it Again Sports store just to assure ourselves that we weren't missing out on finding a used one, we drove back to one of the stores and made the purchase. We've been thinking about buying one for a long time--actually, after we got the bike trailer (TEC's birthday present last year), we decided that once SCC was big enough to ride in it with TLC, we were going to need something for RVC so we could go out on a family bike ride. TEC was especially dilligent in setting aside the money for this purchase. He even test-drove a Ford back in Tyler just because they offered a VISA gift card that could be used on anything.
It took a little while to get the bikes and respective towing systems set up, but soon we were off on our ride around Millcreek. I had RVC with me. She did great and it was fun to be able to chat with her while I huffed and puffed up hills. TLC and SCC kicked back in the trailer with their snack bags, though SCC fussed a bit about that silly bike helmet we made her wear. We didn't have a lot of time for the ride (Utah football game that afternoon), but it was just enough time to try out our find and enjoy the gorgeous weather.
We finished our ride at Tanner Park, just up from our house. The kids got to play at the playground while TEC and I rested our jello legs for a bit (we have some getting in shape to do). What fun, though. Every time we go for a bike ride I have such a good time and I wonder why I don't make the effort to go more. Now we have no excuse, though. Hopefully we'll have a few more nice days to do it this year (if for no other reason than to get some good pictures!).

Hopefully this Saturday will be another blue bird day and the Utah doesn't start until 3:30, giving you two extra hours!
I meant "Utah football game" doesn't start until 3:30.
That sounds like a perfect way to spend a fall day! Wish we could be biking it with ya!
