an education in super heros

"Who can get all the way from here to our house in just two jumps?" RVC asked me in the car this evening.

"I don't know," I replied, "maybe Superman can."

"Yeah, Superman," she agreed. Then, "Or Spiderman."

"Or Wonderwoman," I added. After all, a female superhero ought to be able to match the powers of their male counterparts, as far as jumping skills go.

"Or Weatherwoman."

Hmmm. I had about reached the end of my superhero knowledge. Not too proud to admit my ignorance, I asked for help on this one.

"What does Weatherwoman do?" I asked.

"She changes the weather," was the reply. It's a good thing RVC is only four. I'm sure TEC would have found a few more sarcastic responses for my silly question.

Maybe my little girl sensed that I needed a bit more help. She proceeded to give me a quick lesson on some (new?) superheros. Here's what I learned:

Weatherwoman, as we've established, can change the weather.

Hammerman. He's the one who "makes things that get in your way."

Yuckyman. Apparently, he is sometimes called "Goo-man." You really need to look out for him. He "shoots goo right where you need to walk."

Now, I wish I could remember more presisely the story she told next. Something about Hammerman and Yuckyman out on the ice...Weatherwoman coming and changing the weather to "sunny," which melts the ice, leaving Hammerman and Yuckyman to almost sink in the water...

t&j- I laughed so hard at this one...we can't wait to have your kids around so that we can have a similar special relationship with them that we share with h&l's kids. I love 'em all so much. kids are great - especially sunbeams! (I realize that RVC is long past that!...) We're praying for someone to buy the house. Good Luck- Love ya!

I guess the only superhero I know is weatherwoman--or as I know her, "Mother Nature".

That's a good one! She seems like such a creative kid! Briel misses her already. Thanks for all your help! We miss Tyler already, too. We brought the rain to Utah with us. Guess that's a good thing though! :)
