bringing home the bacon

Reader be warned! The content of this post may not be suitable for the faint-hearted. Photos are compliments of Sister Hill from our ward...she gave them to us on Sunday, but the event actually happened a month ago.

Wild hog hunting!
You may be thinking: "What?...TEC?...hunting?" I was surprised, myself, to hear he had interest in going. But more than anything, I think he was just up to try something he'd never tried before. Or maybe it was just the urge to say, as a true East Texan, "I'm gonna get me a hog!"

You'll have to ask TEC about the details of the hunt. What I can tell you (other than, yet again, "Only in Texas!") is that if you come to dinner at the Cundick's, there's a good chance you'll be served up some hog! It's not bad. So far I've tried it roasted and, at the recommendation of Brother Hill, I also "chicken fried up" some. TEC has plans to marinate some of the meat using his dad's barbeque turkey recipe.

TEC really ought not to be let near scissors, let alone firearms.

Yuck! Never heard of anyone doing that since we've been in Texas. Guess they had fun.... :)

tec,

Did you really get that hog or did someone else shoot it. What kinda gun did you use?

You bet I shot it...1 bullet, too, right in the ear hole. I don't know what kind of gun it was, but it was big (243?).
