Easter
RVC had her first Rosecrest school play experience as a cast member of Mulan. I am proud of my kids any time they are brave enough to audition or perform. I know it is building them into strong people.
SCC had her first solo recital back in the spring. She had completed her first set of books and played some of her favorite pieces from that level.
She also did a great job in the 2nd grade Living Wax Museum, portraying Elizabeth Cochrane, or "Nellie Bly" quite convincingly.
Her beloved teacher, Mrs. Miller was retiring at the end of the year. What a special lady. She couldn't resist squeezing one last puppet show into the end of the year, so SCC managed to come away with a 2nd grade puppet after all.
CAC's kindergarten class put together an end-of-year Readers Theater. What an amazing thing it is to watch your child develop as a reader. She had a wonderful year with sweet Mrs. Hurzeler
Here's a little project that started back in the spring. We decided to renovate our basement space a bit, tearing down a wall here, building a new wall there. It's been a long process with ends still being tied up now, but we're happy with the results. More on that another time. The kids did have fun with the demolition part.
Spring also meant recitals and end-of-year programs.
Though it didn't last, it was fun to see RVC give the cello a try. Maybe some day she'll pick it up again.
TLC also said goodbye to his soccer team. This fall he decided to join a team of kids from Rosecrest.
And CAC was just happy to play. She finally got her turn to play on a team and discovered that she's quite a good soccer player.
