too quiet

Such a beautiful day to be sitting indoors.  I'm taking just a minute to note that it's quiet...except for the sound of my son munching on a Halloween sucker here in the front room.  RVC was home sick today and has been sleeping/reading/watching shows all day.  CAC, while almost all better, has been taking advantage of this "free" day of endless TV that I allow when the kids get sick and is keeping RVC company.  SCC came home from school and decided to lay down (hmmm) and has since fallen asleep.

When one kid gets it, they all get it.  It's the hard reality for which I have to brace myself every time.  We really want this all to pass before next week.  That would really be great.

TLC so far has fared okay--a bit of a cough is all.  Here's an interesting strand of logic he just shared with me on this quiet afternoon:

I figured out that boys are just as good as girls.  If there weren't any girls, then there wouldn't be any people because girls have the babies.  If there weren't any boys, there wouldn't be the Priesthood and if there wasn't the Priesthood, there wouldn't be the Church.  And if there wasn't the Church, there would be too much war and fighting.  And more people would die.  So boys are as good as girls.
