kindergarten kid

TLC's big day today.  We sent RVC off to school in the morning, made a trip to the store, got a few things done around the house, and then packed him up for his first afternoon of kindergarten.

It was hard to tell if he was excited or scared (is that a smile?).  He was a bit quieter than usual all morning, so I think he was a bit nervous.  What a cute boy, though.  I had to squeeze him a few extra times before we left home, and I'm grateful that he let me.
RVC met us on the playground during her recess.  Proud big sister.

Thirty-seven kids in his class as of now.  Ridiculous.  They are working on getting another teacher, but it will probably take a few weeks.  Mrs. Neeley is pretty darn amazing with these kindergarten classes, I must say.
The best part of the day for me: watching these two walk home together

As far as I know, the day went well.  I was reminded of RVC's first say of kindergarten, after which I asked her a bunch of questions, expecting her to pour out her guts to me about how everything went.  She revealed very little back then and TLC was the same way today.  One thing he did tell me was that Mrs. Neeley likes them to raise their hands when they have a question.  When I asked him if he had had any questions, he said he had A LOT of questions.  I tried to imagine what the afternoon must have been like with TLC raising his hand over and over again.

He told me about only one of the questions he asked: are they allowed to play on the straight pole at recess?  The answer: Yes.

As for any more tidbits from the kindergarten experience, we'll have to find out more as we go.
