CAC is 2!

How did I forget to post about this?  So has gone the month of August.  Tomorrow is the first day of school for RVC and we're still trying to catch our breath from all that we've been swimming in this month. I suppose I'll be doing some catch up for a while.

So first and foremost, yes, CAC did turn 2 on August 3rd.  It was just about a week following SCC's birthday, so we were very much in birthday mode.  We even kept the balloons and streamers up in between (and, I'm embarrassed to say, for close to a week afterward).

CAC started talking about her birthday early.  "SCC's birthday is all done!" and "I'm going to be two in two days!" she kept saying, making sure we remembered that it was now her turn to have a special day.

It was a good day.  Pretty low-key, with the usual present-opening in the morning over breakfast, a trip to the grocery store where CAC got to ride in the truck cart (usually I'm the mean old mom and say "no" when it comes to the truck cart), a visit from Grandma and Grandpa B in the afternoon, cake and ice cream with Grams and Papa that evening.

Reading her very own "Who Loves CAC?" book

The morning hair-comb didn't quite last the whole day...sorry, birthday girl

She stared at her cake like this for a few minutes after we sang to her--didn't quite get the blow-out-the-candles thing.

I did take time to write CAC a letter on her birthday, which is maybe why posting anything slipped my mind.  One thing I wrote about is how much fun it is for me to have little conversations with her lately.  Usually it's something simple, like, "Are those your jammies, Mom?" or "Where could Daddy be?...at work?"  I love the little phases that she says now that I know won't last, like "Mommy, hold you me" when she wants to be held or "No, I too tired" when she doesn't want to eat another bite of her dinner.

We love our sweet Mia.  She makes a very cute 2-year-old.
