a farewell to 3

SCC is now 4 years old.

She had a great time opening presents,

getting visits and calls from grandparents,

having an afternoon lemonade stand with our friends,

and of course, eating cake and ice cream.

She just sat with me and told me about what she misses about being 3.  I first asked her to tell me what was good about being 3.  She couldn't think of anything at first, so I started off her list:

You learned to write your name.
You learned to ride a bicycle.
You started going to Sunbeams at church.
You learned to count to 31.

From SCC's Sunbeam class early this year

Here she added a few herself:

I learned to write Xs when I was 3.  And I learned to write Ss when I was 3.

I asked, "What do you miss most about being 3?"

I'm sad that I loved to play family when I was 3 and now I don't like to.

What's good about being 4?

Knowing not to talk baby voice.
The bestest bestest part is not being silly when Rusty and Rosy [a reading program] is telling you something.
I love my friend Gentry.

What do you hope happens when you're 4?

I hope that I learn sounds.  And that I can live safely.
I hope that I'm happy.
I hope I get a balloon.
I hope that I turn 5.
I really really want a bed like Gentry's.
It is very very fun if I get to say these things to make them come true.

I hope our sweet 4 year old has many wishes come true this year.  I really hope she turns 5 as well...just not too soon.

Her comments are hilarious. How good of you to write them down to have forever. You are an awesome mom!
