I did not. Thankfully, I was still sleeping this morning at that time. But I figure I need to at least acknowledge that the moment occurred. Maybe I'll be more on my toes on September 9th at 09:09:09...that's one I'll be awake for.
What I did do today was enjoy a walk around Silver Lake and picnic with the kids and some friends/ new acquaintances up at the Brighton resort. We were last up there back in the fall when the leaves were changing. It was fun to be back up in the mountains to escape the summer heat for a while.
So, with the date now being July 8th, I am officially 5 days overdue in noting CAC's month day. For any faithful readers who have wondered, she did in fact turn 11 months, even as we made the drive up to Idaho last weekend.
I think 11 months is a bittersweet age. I remember noticing this with SCC at this point, as well: little moments have passed where I've realized that my little CAC is not a baby anymore. She expresses herself more and more like a kid. She acts "shy." She makes her voice heard as well as the big kids. She's busy and more curious every day. She seems to know when she's being silly, even laughs at herself at times. It's definitely more sweet than bitter, because I LOVE all of these fun things about her right now. I'm sad to think about her growing up, but I'm enjoying it at the same time.
A few things that make me smile about CAC right now:
When she plays "peek-a-boo" she covers up her ears instead of her eyes. She doesn't like you to take anything from her, but loves to "give" you something when you ask her for it (and then she likes to take it right back). She tries with all her might to walk with our broken push toy as it collapses under her. She pats me on the back when I hug her, like she's hugging me back. She does things that remind me of some of the little things my other kids used to do, and how they made me smile, like getting into magazines, unfolding folded laundry, climbing up on the dishwasher...

I was going to write something about the time but didn't get a chance to. We didn't do anything either. There was the other time of 12:34:56 07.08.09.
um, doesn't 04:05:06 07-08-09 technically happen twice a day? or is that not how the game is played. yay for little C. and being 11 months, although by now she is probably a year. love her little crawl.
