cinco de marzo

Five days into March. I was really convinced that we had hit spring weather, the weather has been so nice, but then it snowed last night. I still think we're about there, though. We have "raspberries" (as TLC describes them) growing on our tree in the front yard and tulips/daffodils peeking up through the ground.

We picked RVC up from kindergarten (early release day) and joined some friends for a trip to the Discovery Gateway. Usually it's tricky to fit a worthwhile trip into the window between kindergarten and naps, and as it was today, naps kind of got messed up. Oh well; it was good to get out. I was reminded that two adults are a must there with my crew--I did more spinning around keeping track of kids than spending quality hands-on time with any of them--so it was good to be there with the Peerys. We played for a couple of hours, had lunch, and then sat in on a special Dr. Seuss story-time, where we each received Dr. Seuss hats (or I guess I should say Cat in the Hat hats), and the kids each got to pick out a book.

CAC is 7 months old, as of Tuesday. Her biggest development is sitting up, and I guess she's doing better with solids as well. Still not gobbling it up, but she likes cereal, green veges, and squash so far. Today my mom stopped by with a few things and the kids were all wired from being out in the morning--loud and playing in the front room. CAC seemed to pick up on the excitement and joined in with her own form of "talking." As my mom pointed out, she's learning early that in order to have any say around here, she's going to have to speak up. Fun girl. I'm just trying to not blink too much and miss things as time flies by.

We were hoping for spring too! The kids have been out on bikes the past week, but today it is freezing with a few flurries to come :( The kids are growing so fast! CAC seems like she is at that fun stage where they amaze you at how quickly they progress. What a cutie!
