camping '08

We enjoyed four spectacular days in Capitol Reef with Grams and Papa and Holly's family this week. Laundry awaits, but here are a few highlights...

Tuesday's hike through sandy trails to Calf Creek Falls tested our wills a bit, but plenty of shade and cool water made for a nice reward.

We went on a few shorter hikes Wednesday and Thursday. The kids did great. They especially enjoyed posing for pictures with their cousins in the wind-shaped canyons.

Other than hiking, we did our share of relaxing, playing games, and eating all sorts of camping treats. See more pictures here.

We didn't get any pictures of our new tent, which had its maiden voyage this trip, but we were very pleased. It kept us dry and even withstood some pretty strong wind. And so far, it only has one spot with purple crayon scribbles on it (courtesy of SCC).

Anyhow, we had fun and look forward to many more camping trips as a family.

Cute pictures which will bring many fond memories. With your new tent, I'm certain you will have many more camping trips to look forward to. Welcome back to civilization and all that laundry.
Love, Mom

What a fun trip! It's nice to just enjoy being outdoors, even if taking that break does mean having to catch up when you get home. :)

Looks like a great place! You're brave to go camping when you're pregnant. :)

Tested our wills a little? That's the understatement of the century! :) Actually, we had a great time and were so happy to share it with our favorite cousins!
