Halloween

We had a fun and spooooooky Halloween (you'll have to imagine TL raising his eyebrows and shaking his head while howling a high-pitched "ooooooo"...usually it's his "firetruck" sound, but yesterday it was for Halloween).

The evening was filled with all our favorite Halloween activities: carving pumpkins, eating pumpkin stew (Grma Bushman's recipe), dressing up in costumes... R went for the Princess Jasmine costume this time (luckily we have a nice supply of hand-me-down dress-ups), while TL made his second appearance as Thomas the Train. TE, now without his cowgirl sidekick, threw together his interpretation of "Aladin." Baby S and I did the magician/bunny thing again.

After dinner, TE took R and TL to a few neighbor houses for some trick-or-treating, as if we needed more candy after Saturday night. The kids (that is, all but sleepy Baby S...) then spent most of the evening standing at the door waiting for kids to come to our house. We didn't have many come this year--we're told that our neighborhood is not the "hot spot" among trick-or-treaters. But we did get a visit from two of R's princess friends, and we talked Grams into doing her "witch's laugh" over the phone. All in all a fun end to a fabulous October...
