It was so nice to sleep in our own beds last night...actually, maybe it was just the sleeping in a bed that made it so nice (we "slept" in the car the night before on our long drive back from Utah). I'm taking a break right now from unpacking and trying to settle back into homelife after our long trip. From St. Louis, T flew back home, only to turn around and make the drive down to Beaumont for work. The kids and I flew to SLC to spend time with family before my sister Tracey's wedding. We had a wonderful time. R and TL are pretty lucky kids to be able to travel to one place to see all of their grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins (minus one uncle on a mission). Hopefully I'll get around to including some photos of all our adventures.
T flew in to join us early Friday morning--just in time to make some final decisions regarding the purchase of a minivan (we worked with a man that buys lease-returns at dealer auctions and are pleased with what he found--2005 Toyota Sienna, silver). That evening we got together with Val & Ben (living in Kaysville) and Holly (up from Vernal) and all the cousins for pizza and just hanging out. Saturday morning, Grams and Holly watched the kids while I went to help Tracey with some last minute wedding details. T spent the morning golfing with his dad (Papa) at the Tabernacle Choir golf tournament.
The wedding was really neat. Tracey and Christian Gurholt were married at what will soon be Finn's Cafe in Salt Lake. It was, as the very clever announcement put it, the "wedding you thought would never happen," but also an occasion celebrating two amazing and talented people. They looked very happy.
We're happy to be back home. Our garden looks like it survived for the most part, except the peas along the house--I'm not sure if it's a watering issue or some kind of bug... We are still hoping to finish fixing up our bathroom and now we have to get really serious about selling our CR-V, alhough we do have one prospective buyer coming to see it tomorrow.
